Resolutions
Tuesday 6th January 2009
It is advisable not to set yourself an unrealistic goal. It is estimated that 88% of new year resolutions fail. Set yourself an achievable target that you really want to exceed, that way you are less likely to give up at the first hurdle.
You are more likely to succeed or achieve your goal if you map out stages of how you plan to achieve or hit your target. Measure your achievements as you progress and tick off your goals as you reach them.
Visualise where you want to be and how you are going to get there. This will help you to achieve your goal and keep you moving in the right direction. If you feel your resolve slipping, remind yourself of where you want to be to get back on track.
Telling other people about your goals will give you vital support from friends and family and will further motivate you to achieve your goal.
